Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 17, 2026
J VanderArend ("we," "us," or "our") is a consulting business owned and operated by Jennifer VanderArend, a sole proprietor based in Walnut Creek, California. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through wecreatetoelevate.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
We keep this simple: we collect only what we need to respond to you and provide our services, and we never sell your personal information.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you book a discovery call, email us, or work with us, you may share:
  • Your name, email address, and phone number
  • Your organization's name and your role
  • Details you choose to share about your organization and the project you have in mind
  • Billing details if you become a client (for example, billing contact and address). We do not store full payment card numbers.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the Site automatically collects some technical information when you visit, such as:
  • IP address and approximate location (city or region)
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages you view, how long you stay, and the page that referred you
This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Notice for details.
2. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
  • Respond to your questions and schedule calls
  • Prepare proposals and deliver the services you request
  • Send invoices and manage our business records
  • Send occasional updates or resources, only if you have asked to receive them
  • Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it
  • Keep the Site secure and comply with legal obligations
3. How we share your information
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We share information only with service providers that help us run the business, and only as needed for them to do that work. These include:
  • Squarespace, which hosts the Site and provides basic site analytics
  • Google (Google Calendar and Gmail), which powers our appointment booking and email
When you book a call, you use Google's booking page, and Google's own Privacy Policy also applies to the information you enter there.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.
4. How long we keep information
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Inquiry and discovery call details are kept for up to 2 years. Client records, contracts, and invoices are kept for as long as tax and business record laws require (generally up to 7 years). After that, we delete or anonymize them.
5. Your choices and rights
You can ask us at any time to:
  • Tell you what personal information we have about you
  • Correct information that is wrong
  • Delete your information, unless we must keep it for legal or tax reasons
  • Stop sending you marketing emails (you can also use the unsubscribe link in any such email)
To make a request, email us at jvanderarenddesign@gmail.com. We will respond within 45 days. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
California residents. California law gives residents rights to know about, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We honor these requests as described above. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that would require offering a right to limit.
Under California's "Shine the Light" law, California residents may ask whether we have shared personal information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not do this.
6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for responding to these signals, so the Site does not currently respond to them. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing of your personal information for that browser.
7. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect personal information, including trusted service providers, password protection, and two-factor authentication on our business accounts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's privacy
The Site and our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Links to other websites
The Site may link to other websites, such as Google's booking page or our social media profiles. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on the Site.
